As a sneak peek to the Fall Issue, I thought I would share my welcome article with you where I discuss much of the magazine content. This article is found on page 3 of the Fall issue.

Welcome to Fall Preparation

In this Issue: Fall Sneak Peek

As the summer season fades away and fall is upon us, the business of preparation develops. We are preparing to return to work after vacations, preparing for a new school year, and making plans for the upcoming holidays. Therefore, the theme for our Fall Issue is rightfully deemed “Preparation.” You will find articles to help you prepare your herb garden for fall planting, as well as recipes to help prepare and protect your body from the challenges thrown at it during this season. With Thanksgiving coming up in November, I have also included an herbed turkey recipe that is guaranteed to make the entire family drool.

Fall also brings the Biblical holy day of the Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah). You will be pleased to find an herbed challah (traditional Jewish bread) recipe with resources to guide you in a variety of braiding styles including information on why a round challah is traditional this time of year. Cinnamon reminds us of fall and has been chosen as the focus for the Materia Medica column. The Biblical tree willow is a fitting herb for this season as it is used during the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot). Of course, it also has a rich medicinal history. What I truly love about these articles is that they show how God's gift of herbs is linked to Yeshua through these celebrations.

Don't forget to print up the Fall Lessons for Little Sprouts. Your kids will love the recipes and activities, which focus on elder. This herb is a great immune system booster, and can also help battle colds and flus as they head back into the new school year.

Herbalist Rosanna King has written an amazing “Herbal Menstruum Guide” that we have made into a PDF document available only to our subscribers. This is an excellent resource to have on hand during medicine making and can be printed  to keep in your home apothecary for your own use.

I pray The Biblical Herbal blesses you in this season and always as you journey down this path with us in bringing the restoration of ancient biblical herbal ways.

Shalom Aleichem, Tamra
